IQinVision Improves Public Safety at City of Beverly Hills
Approximately two years ago, after former Mayor Jimmy Delshad had observed video surveillance systems in Europe and Israel, Beverly Hill’s IT department was tasked with upgrading the city’s legacy analog system to the best IP video could offer. City planners wanted a “smart” system, one with intelligence built in that would not require constant staff monitoring.
IQinVision has announced that the City of Beverly Hills has installed a wide array of IQeye megapixel cameras to meet the needs of their expanding IP video surveillance project. The City of Beverly Hills (CBH) worked in partnership with Mainline Information Systems, which designed the customized system and is overseeing installation of the IT/camera infrastructure.

Electrone System 200 TCP-IP control pad enables remote operators to control multiple cameras using the Internet
Electrone Europe has launched of the latest version of its programmable CCTV control pad, the Electrone System 200 TCP-IP. This control pad with TCP-IP functionality enables remote operators to control multiple cameras using the Internet or designated intranet from anywhere in the world.
Each device can be setup with its own IP address allowing it to be uniquely identified on the network and to manage a large number of devices remotely. Upon connection each controller connects with its designated host for verification and authentication on the network.
Stuart Thorn, chief executive of Electrone Europe, comments, “Electrone has developed the device to allow users to opt for dynamic IP assignment (DHCP) or to manually assign a static IP. This flexible functionality allows users with only limited technical knowledge to setup the device and is particularly cost effective for installing units in remote locations.”
